Overview

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has invested over ₹1,000 crore to expand its Banmore facility in Madhya Pradesh, raising annual passenger car radial tyre capacity to 10.5 million units. JK Tyre Surges Production with ₹1,000 Crore Banmore Expansion

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has commissioned the Phase III expansion of its Banmore manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. This significant investment, exceeding ₹1,000 crore, elevates the plant's annual passenger car radial (PCR) tyre capacity to approximately 10.5 million units.

Capacity Boost

The upgraded Banmore facility is now geared to produce around 30,000 PCR tyres daily. This expansion is crucial for JK Tyre, bolstering its standing in the competitive domestic passenger vehicle segment. Demand from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the replacement market remains robust.

The plant represents a substantial part of JK Tyre's PCR portfolio, complementing its overall Indian capacity of nearly 16 million units per year. The investment focuses on modernizing manufacturing infrastructure and scaling output to meet diverse customer needs across aftermarket and export channels.

Strategic Modernization

Inaugurated with senior executives from key OEM Maruti Suzuki India Ltd present, the expansion incorporates advanced manufacturing systems and energy-efficient processes. This aligns with JK Tyre's strategy to enhance productivity and optimize costs, especially amidst volatile raw material and freight expenses.

The Banmore facility's development also contributes to direct and indirect employment in the Gwalior–Chambal region, solidifying its role as an industrial hub for the company. JK Tyre operates nine Indian facilities and two in Mexico, boasting a global annual capacity of about 35 million tyres across all categories.
