The exclusive global arrangement will be implemented gradually, beginning as individual territory rights become available later this year. "Our members all over the world love movies and giving them exclusive access to Sony's much-loved films adds incredible value to their subscriptions," stated Lauren Smith, Vice President of Licensing and Programming Strategy at Netflix. She highlighted the appeal of franchises like 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' and originals such as 'Anyone But You,' noting excitement to expand this offering internationally.

He emphasized that this new Pay-1 deal elevates the collaboration and reinforces the enduring appeal of Sony's theatrical releases. Littmann also pointed to the deal as underscoring Sony's independence and ability to forge unique opportunities for its creative stakeholders, consumers, and partners.

Upcoming Exclusives

Among the initial SPE feature films slated to stream on Netflix under the new deal are 'The Nightingale,' an adaptation of Kristin Hannah's novel starring Dakota and Elle Fanning; Sony Pictures Animation's 'Buds'; Nintendo's live-action 'The Legend of Zelda'; 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,' concluding the acclaimed trilogy; and Sam Mendes' quartet of Beatles films.
