Telecom Giants AGR Relief Ke Liye Saath Aaye
Bharti Airtel aur do Tata group entities, sarkar ko Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) liabilities par equitable treatment ke liye petition karne ke liye ek united front bana rahi hain.
Yeh kadam tab aaya hai jab sarkar ne Vodafone Idea ko 10-saal ka debt holiday diya tha, jisne doosre operators ko bhi coordinated engagement aur legal avenues explore karne par majboor kiya hai.
Executives ne kaha ki payments tab tak restart nahi hongi jab tak sabhi companies ke liye uniform treatment nahi hota.
Tata Teleservices aur Tata Teleservices Maharashtra milkar ₹19,259 crore ki teesri sabse badi AGR liabilities rakhti hain, jabki Bharti Airtel par ₹48,103 crore ka bojh hai.
In dues ki repayment iss March se shuru honi hai.
Competitive Concerns
Industry players ka kehna hai ki selective relief se market mein distortions aa sakte hain aur un operators par pressure padega jinhe FY26 se AGR payments restart karni hain.
Woh ek consistent policy framework ki zaroorat par zor de rahe hain.
Bharti Airtel ne significant operating free cash flow ke saath financial recovery dikhai hai, lekin uske leadership ne pehle bhi similar government treatment ki ichha jatayi hai.
Regulatory Context
September 2021 mein, ek 4-saal ka moratorium diya gaya tha, jisse telecom companies ko FY26 tak payments defer karne ki allowance mili, Net Present Value (NPV) of dues ko protect karke.
Lekin, yeh moratorium khatam ho gaya aur companies se six annual installments shuru karne ki ummeed thi.
Supreme Court ne, November 2025 mein, telecom relief par government ke policy decisions mein interfere karne se mana kar diya, Vodafone Idea jaise stressed companies ko competition maintain karne ke liye support karne mein Centre ke discretion ko acknowledge karte hue.
